Details on the house... COMING SOON
How J House began
The Jeremiah’s House dream of giving a home to Haitian orphans began in September 2017. It is the vision of Berdy Jean Mary. (Please visit the story “Berdy’s Story” on our “Learn More” tab to learn more about his upbringing, his struggles, and how he got to where he is today.) He was determined to make J House happen… he just was not quite sure how long it would take and how he would get the money to make it happen; but he knew in his heart the Lord had put this project in his head for a reason, and he was following it with burning passion.
In 2015, Berdy was introduced to Miranda Burcham. When it comes to sheer will, and confidence on achieving goals, no one can argue that Miranda Burcham has what it takes. Her association with the people of Haiti was well established, but when her vision collided with Berdy’s passion and fortitude, it was a match made in heaven.
Miranda heard the story of the launch of the Jeremiah’s house so she reached out to her fitness fans and issued a push up challenge to raise funds to launch the J House and bring Berdy’s vision to life. In less than a week, she and her devotees raised well over $30,000.00 for the project and donations were pouring in left and right.
The rest is history. Jeremiah’s house was born. Berdy’s volunteer army now has its very own fundraising committee working diligently to ensure that each and every boy has an advocate and extended family.
